Atlanta Rapper Gucci Mane just lost a $270,000 battle in court — after a New York jewelry company sued the rapper for stealing diamonds and won.
Gucci had 15 days to pay for the goods or return them. He only paid $40,000 to the jewelry company. Gucci didn’t bother showing up in court so by default the jewelry company won the judgment.
Justin Combs is receiving so much flack for be awarded a $54,000 football scholarship to UCLA. Critics say he should give it back based on his father P diddy’s multi millionaire financial status.
Wednesday Justin tweeted “Regardless what the circumstances are, I put that work in!!!!” Justin Combs tweeted Wednesday. “PERIOD.”
Justin maintained a 3.75 gpa at Iona Prep an elite private school in New rochelle, ny while playing cornerback.
In an interview with CNN, education contributor Dr. Steve Perry defended Combs’ merit-based scholarship, saying he earned it fair and square.
“He’s done what he needs to do to be successful, and in ‘Ameritocracy’ we have to accept that no matter who your father is, whether he be rich, poor or absent, that you can in fact be successful on your own merit,” Perry said.
Please post your thoughts on the matter. I don’t feel Justin should give up what he worked hard for over 4 years in high school. A better solution be that Diddy donate a couple of sizable scholarships to deserving students of his hometown of Mount Vernon and New Rochelle, Ny.
Former welterweight champion Paul Williams is in the fight of his life. Swerving to avoid an oncoming vehicle Paul Williams, who lives about an hour outside of Atlanta, had ridden his motorcycle from his home to Atlanta to attend the Sunday wedding of one of his brothers. His spine was severed and he currently has no movement below the waist.
Doctors fear that the thirty-year old boxer might never be able to walk again. On Wednesday, Williams is scheduled for surgery aimed at preserving his upper-body movement.
Peterson said that the accident occurred around 8 a.m. as Williams was riding to another brother’s home to get ready for the wedding, which took place later in the day.
George Peterson, Williams’ trainer, manager and father figure, said on Monday that Williams’ doctors said he would never walk again and that his boxing career is over.
“They’re saying he won’t walk again or box again,” said Peterson, who flew to Atlanta from Washington, D.C., where they were training for Williams’ next fight, on Sunday. “Paul is in denial right now. It’s been that way with him. You tell him he can’t or won’t do something, and he wants to prove you different. So whatever the doctors say, he’s not listening. But they say that (walking and boxing) is not going to happen.”
