Sorry Jigga there’s a new sheriff in town. Drake currently holds the record for the most #1 songs on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart among rappers.
Drake‘s latest collaboration with rapper 2 Chainz rises (2-1) to the top of the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart to become his 10th No. 1 hit on the chart.
Drake’s quick ascension to a double-digit No. 1 tally is quite impressive, as it’s been just three years, one month and three weeks since he claimed his first No. 1 and only five weeks longer than that since he first graced the list. By contrast it took Jay-Z longer (three years, six months and one week) just to get his first No. 1 from the time of his initial chart appearance while 12 years and one month passed between his first and ninth No. 1s.
It’s been a minute since I’ve listened to Aaliyah. Thanks to Drake, we get to hear some unreleased music from her. It’s no secret Drake has huge admiration for Aaliyah. He even went out and got a portrait tattoo of the singer last year. Everyone isn’t too happy about Drake jumping on a Aaliyah single. By everyone, I’m talking about producer Timberland who worked very closely with Aaliyah on her albums.
During an interview with The Breakfast Club on New York City’s Power 105 radio station in April, Timbaland made it clear that he and Missy Elliott should both be involved in any Aaliyah album in the works. “I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do it, it should be with me and Missy,” Timbo said, referring to reports that Drake was manning the project. “The proper way for him to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. The best decision, what the fans would want to see is all three of us. It can’t be something to make money off of ’cause I think it’s wrong to make money off the dead.”
“When I think of myself, I think of Toronto. My music would never sound the way it does if it weren’t for Toronto,” he says. “You talk about certain artists, and they sound like where they’re from. Myself and the Weeknd, we both just sound like Toronto.”
Drake recently did an interview with NOW magazine. He talks about OVO fest, Toronto and finishing up High School. His new ink 416 is actually one of Toronto’s area codes.
“I’m actually spending my summer graduating high school,” admits the rapper on a too-rare visit back home. “That’s my main focus after OVO Fest. I only have one credit left, and I’m really excited about that.”
It’s a particularly Canadian answer from a performer who’s somehow managed to turn all the nice and boring bits of our identity into a wildly successful hip-hop brand. Rival rappers can’t even successfully diss him for being soft, because he’s never bothered pretending to be hard. And as exciting as this city can be, we still tend to fear that we seem provincial compared to places like New York or London.
“As close as we are to New York, it still feels far removed. We feel far removed from that American celebrity lifestyle, and from that kind of success.”
With every media outlet covering the chris brown & drake nightclub brawl caught on video the two have released statements via their respective reps.
“Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”
A rep for Chris Brown has issued a statement that reads: ”Chris, Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP. They sustained several injuries.”
The statement continues, “Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further.”
Last night Chris Brown and Drake along with their entourage got into a huge bottle throwing fight last night at the Greenhouse in NYC. Over what? Rihanna! Let me go on record by saying Rihanna must be a bad bitch in the bedroom to have 1 and 1/2 grown men fighting over her crotch.
Drake began yelling & pointing at Chris and in return he yelled back. Both men’s entourages began a shoving match. According to a witness, Drake threw a bottle of champagne at Chris’ face, injuring the singer. Bottles were flown left to right across the club. At one point while bottles were being thrown, Drake ran into the men’s bathroom.
Meek Mill is rumored to have instigated the fight between Drake and Chris Brown.
Chris uploaded the photo of the nasty gash on his instagram. The nightclub suffered busted up tables, broken mirrors, shattered lighting and glass scratches all over the floors.
Chris Browns bodyguard who goes by the name ”Big Pat” injury from last night’s brawl. And below a innocent bystander from Australia named
Hollie C. a 24 year old told TMZ, “Within a few moments of noticing glass being thrown around, I saw a glass bottle headed towards me; consequently hitting me in the head.”
“I immediately started to bleed and proceeded to fall in and out of consciousness.”

This must be diss Rihanna week. Poor girl got called out from ex boyfriend Chris Brown on his ”Theraflu” freestyle now Drizzy Drake. On his latest track with 2 chainz the rapper takes jabs at RiRi. Take a look at the lyrics and you decide.
“She came through, she brought food/She got f—ed, she knew wassup /She think I’m the realest out /And I say “damn, that makes two of us” /Oh that look like what’s her name /Chances are it is whats her name /Chances are, if she was acting up /Then I f–ked her once and never f—ed again /She could have a Grammy, I still treat that *ss like a nominee /Just need to know what that p—y like so one time, it’s fine with me”
Drake and Rihanna collaborated on her track ”What’s my name’ and Rihanna has a few grammys under her belt.
